Slack Integration

Alium Assistant is a Slack app that gives your team instant access to buyer intelligence without leaving Slack. Team members can ask natural-language questions about vendors, buyers, and market trends and get answers grounded in real interview transcripts.

Setup

Install the app

  1. Go to alium.io/slack and click Add to Slack.
  2. Authorize the app in your Slack workspace.

The workspace is linked to your team's Alium account. One installation per workspace is supported.

How team members get access

When someone on your team first messages Alium Assistant, their Slack email is automatically matched to their Alium account. If it matches, they're verified instantly — no action needed from you or them.

If a team member uses a different email for Slack and Alium, they'll see a Verify My Account button. Clicking it opens Alium in their browser where they can link the accounts. The verification link expires after 24 hours — they can type verify to get a new one.

Team members who aren't part of your Alium subscription will be directed to contact you (the admin).

What your team can do

Ask questions

Team members can ask questions in two ways:

  • Assistant threads — Open a new thread with Alium Assistant from Slack's assistant panel. This is the primary interface.
  • @mentions — Mention @Alium Assistant in any channel the bot has been added to.

Questions are answered in real-time with a streaming response that includes links to the source interview transcripts on app.alium.io. Alium remembers context within a thread, so follow-up questions work naturally.

Example questions

  • "What are buyers saying about HubSpot?"
  • "Show me recent interviews about email marketing in retail"
  • "How does Marketo compare to HubSpot according to enterprise buyers?"
  • "What are mid-market companies in financial services shopping for?"

Alium can answer questions about vendor intelligence, buyer insights, market trends, and competitive analysis. Questions can be narrowed by industry, company size, management level, recency, tech stack, and in-market status.

Suggested prompts

When someone opens a new assistant thread, Alium suggests personalized prompts based on your team's tracked competitors, ICP attributes, and company description. These are regenerated daily and appear as clickable suggestions in the thread.

When anyone in your workspace shares an app.alium.io transcript URL in a channel, Alium automatically shows a rich preview card with the interview date, interviewee's role and company, "in market for" tags, and key tech stack products. Link previews work for everyone in the workspace — no verification required.

Feedback

Every AI response includes thumbs up/down buttons so team members can rate answers.
